WALNUT, Calif. -- Three distance runners from the University of Michigan men's track and field team represented the Wolverines in the 10,000-meter run on the opening day of the Mt. SAC Relays on Thursday (April 17) at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
Senior/junior Mark Beams (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg) qualified to compete in the invite elite section of the 10,000-meter run, where he finished 22nd in a time of 29:59.65.
In the Olympic development elite section of the 10,000-meter run, sophomore/freshman Nick Renberg (Saline, Mich./Saline) junior/sophomore Scotty Albaugh (Waterford, Mich./Waterford Mott) placed 20th and 29th, respectively, in time of 30:15.97 and 31:02.42.
This marked the first time at 10,000 meters this season for Beams and the second for Albaugh, while Renberg made his collegiate debut in a Maize and Blue uniform today.
Select U-M distance runners, sprinters and hurdlers will be in action on Friday, April 18, at the Mt. SAC Relays, starting at 10 a.m. PDT.
