KAMLOOPS, British Columbia -- Junior/sophomore Mason Ferlic (St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy) of the University of Michigan men's track and field team competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as a member of Team USA at the North America, Central American, & Caribbean (NACAC) U-23 Championships on Sunday (Aug. 10) at Hillside Stadium.
In a five-man field, Ferlic ran to a runner-up finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 9:04.78, behind Canada's Christopher Dulhanty, who earned gold in 8:56.60. Ferlic was one of two steeplechasers selected to represent Team USA along with Princeton's Edward Owens, who took third in 9:18.87.
Ferlic will now return to Ann Arbor to prepare for cross country preseason team camp, which will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 20. The 2013 All-American returns to lead a Wolverine squad that captured the NCAA Great Lakes Region title and earned a runner-up finish at the Big Ten Championships a year ago.
