ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan wrestling program will host a free wrestling clinic on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cliff Keen Arena. The clinic, the second and last of the 2012-13 season, is open to all ages and skill levels and will feature technique instruction from former Wolverine standouts Steve Luke and Zac Stevens, as well as members of the U-M team. No registration is necessary, and video cameras will be permitted.

Luke (2006-09) captured the 2009 NCAA 174-pound title and was a three-time NCAA All-American, placing second as a junior (2008) and sixth as a sophomore (2007). He posted a perfect 32-0 record as a senior, collimating history with an 8-4 decision over Central Michigan's Mike Miller in the championship finale at the NCAA Tournament. Named Michigan's Male Athlete of the Year and the Wolverines' male recipient of the 2009 Big Ten Medal of Honor, Luke captured three straight conference 174-pound titles, becoming U-M's ninth three-time champion. His career record of 117-24 ranks him 23rd among Michigan's all-time winningest wrestlers.

A four-year Wolverine starter at 133 pounds (2009-12), Stevens was a 2012 NCAA All-American. He improved his record in each of his collegiate seasons, posting an 88-62 career record at Michigan, including a 27-11 mark as a senior en route to seventh place at the NCAA Championships. Stevens was named team captain as a true sophomore and currently serves as the Wolverines' undergraduate assistant coach while he finishes his bachelor's degree in computational informatics.

The clinic will also feature a special guest appearance by 2012 Olympian Jake Herbert. Currently a member of Cliff Keen Wrestling Club in Ann Arbor, Herbert was a two-time NCAA champion and four-time All-American as a collegiate wrestler at Northwestern (2005-07, '09). He captured a silver medal at the 2009 World Championships and was named the 2009 USA Wrestling Freestyle Wrestler of the Year.

Following the clinic, the Wolverines will square off against Northwestern at 2 p.m. at Cliff Keen Arena. All clinic participants will receive free admission to the meet and a food voucher. Accompanying parents and coaches are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance via the U-M Ticket Office.
