Wolverines Close Out Regular Season at EMU Fall Classic

DEXTER, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's cross country team sent a four-man contingent to the EMU Fall Classic on Friday (Oct. 23) in the regular-season finale at Hudson Mills Metropark. Sophomore/freshman Derek Henning (Alanson, Mich./Petoskey HS) paced the attached duo in the 5,000-meter non-scoring event, placing 20th with a time of 16:08.

Freshman Dallas Bowden (Hastings, New Zealand/Nelson College), while competing unattached, turned in his second straight top-five performance, claiming fifth place with a time of 15:20.

Rounding out the Wolverine participants were freshman Dan Tyler (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven HS) and freshman Ramses Dukes (Detroit, Mich./Mumford HS), who finished 28th and 36th, respectively. Dukes competed unattached in his collegiate debut.

The Maize and Blue will kick off the postseason at the Big Ten Championships next Sunday (Nov. 1) in State College, Pa. The men's 8,000-meter race is slated for a 10:45 a.m. start at the Blue-White Golf Course.
