ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Four freshmen harriers from the University of Michigan men's cross country/track and field team qualified to compete in the junior men's 8K race at the USA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Flatirons Golf Course outside Boulder, Colo. The event will start at 8 a.m. MST, while the men's junior 8K will go off at 10:45 a.m. MST.
Freshmen Austin Benoit (Rockford, Mich./Rockford), Billy Bund (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest), Will Burke (Edina, Minn./Edina) and Cody Snavely (Milford, Mich./Milford), who each redshirted during the 2013 cross country season, will represent the Wolverines in the national event.
It will mark the second straight year competing in the men's junior race for Burke, who placed 21st last year as a high school senior in an 8K time of 25:38.9. Burke also competed against current Wolverine teammates Tony Smoragiewicz (Rapid City, S.D./Rapid City Central) and Alex Moran (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) in the 2013 event.
Results will be available at boulderusacross.com at the conclusion of the meet.
