Friday, Nov. 8 -- at Hoosier Invitational (Bloomington, Ind.), 4 p.m.
In the week off between championship meets, the 16th-ranked University of Michigan men's cross country team will send seven members of its squad to compete in the Hoosier Invitational on Friday (Nov. 8). The non-scoring 8,000-meter event is intended to give student-athletes not competing in the postseason one final chance to race during the 2013 season. The men's 8K is set to begin at 4 p.m. following the women's 5K at 3:15 p.m. at the IU Cross Country Course.
The same seven-man squad was last in action together at the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 4, where they placed 25th as a team. Junior/sophomore Nick Posada (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park) paced the Wolverines at Notre Dame, finishing 104th in a time of 25:49.6.
Since that meet, Posada, senior Nathan Karr (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and sophomore/freshman George Kelly (Lincroft, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) also participated in the open race at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational (Oct. 19). Posada led that trio, running to a ninth-place finish with a season-best 8K time of 24:42.
