Andy Matthews is a 2002 graduate of the School of Kinesiology with a BA in Sport Management & Communications and was a four-year Letterwinner on the golf team. Andy was the program's first ever player to win Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors and was selected by his teammates as their Captain during his Junior and Senior seasons. He finished his Michigan career as a unanimous All-Big Ten Team selection.
While a student-athlete, Andy represented his team on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and later served a two-year term as a member of the University's Advisory Board on Intercollegiate Athletics.
Following graduation, Andy competed full-time on PGA TOUR Canada and on tours around the world before retiring from professional golf in 2013. He now holds the position of Director of Business Development for iFlightPlanner, an Ann Arbor-based company that he co-founded in 2009 that provides aviation weather and cloud-based flight planning resources for private and corporate pilots. He is a native of Grand Rapids, MI where he currently lives.
