Chris Matsos is a native of New Boston, Michigan where he attended Huron High School, graduating 4th in the Class of 2001. From 2001 to 2005, Chris was a member of the University of Michigan football team. He was part of back to back Big Ten Championship teams and participated in four New Years Day bowl games, including back to back Rose Bowls vs USC and Texas. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2005 with a B.A. in English and also holds an M.A. in English from Wayne State University.

Chris played professional arena football in 2006 and 2007. He began his coaching career following the 2007 season at Manchester University as the Running Backs Coach. He became the Running Backs Coach at Wayne State University in 2008 and served as the Wide Receivers coach at Concordia University Ann Arbor in 2011 and 2012.

Chris has also held the positions of Director of Academic Support Services at Concordia University Ann Arbor and Assistant Director of Student Support Services at Wayne State University. He is currently an English instructor at Wayne State University and Monroe County Community College, as well as an Associate Faculty member at Ashford University. Chris resides in New Boston, MI with his wife Christi and their daughter, Sage.
