Dave played football for the most respected Coach in football, Bo Schembechler, from 1986 to 1989 as a wide receiver. He also had the privilege and received the benefit of being coached by other greats such as Gary Moeller, Lloyd Carr, Jerry Hanlon, Cam Cameron, and Mike Gittleson. During those years, The Team won 3 Big Ten Championships and one Rose Bowl Championship.
After graduating from Michigan, Dave worked in the family business - an HVAC service company - and later sold his company to a consolidator. Today Dave is part owner of Thornton & Grooms Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning (a 50+ person company that provides service to residential customers within the metro Detroit area). Dave manages the sales and marketing efforts of the company.
Dave resides in Northville Michigan with his wife Kate and three children (Nolan, Eleanor, and Meredith) and enjoys Church, running, and golf.
