OBITUARY: Gerald F. "Jerry" Schumacher, age 62 yrs. Passed away after a 10 year courageous battle fighting prostate cancer. Dearest son of the late James and Kathleen nee McInerney. Fond son-in-law of the late Chuck and Marge Miller. Beloved husband of Cathy nee Miller. Loving father of Karen (Shawn) Finnin, Katie (Michael) Cawley, Jerry Jr., Brian (Emily) Schumacher. Proudest PaPa of Kathleen, Brigid, Shawn and Jack Finnin, Stella and Nora Cawley. Fond brother of Carole, the late Gene (Lee) Schumacher, Janice (John) Comiskey, Kathleen (Frank) Maloney, Erin (David) Carlstedt, Maureen (Phil) Panatera, Mary Pat (Jim) Rohan, Jim (Julie) Schumacher, and Susan (Tom) Sheahan. Fond brother-in-law of Michael Miller, Ret. Bat. Chief CFD, and PJ (Joanne) Miller. Proud uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews. Proud 1969 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, member of the 1967 Prep Bowl Championship Team, 1973 graduate of the University of Michigan, member of the Rose Bowl and Big 10 Championship Team, inducted in the Chicago Catholic League and Mt. Carmel High School Halls of Fame. At U-M, he played offensive guard and wore the number 63. Football Coach/Teacher at Gordon Tech High School from 1974 - 1978. Member of Local 150. Visitation Thursday, 3-9 p.m. at St. Cajetan Church, 2445 W. 112th Street, Chicago, IL. Friends and family will meet Friday at St. Cajetan Church Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt.
