The Letterwinners M Club is delighted to announce that three board members, two new members-at-large, and four Club volunteers will be joining for the 2013-2014 term. Ryan Bertin, Brad Haudan, Jeanne Hess, Mike Carl, Scott Faculak, Alan Levy, Donna Benford, Charlie Green and Julie Pandya will join the Letterwinners board effective immediately.

"We are very excited to have these letterwinners on board," said Letterwinners M Club President Mary Petrovich. "Our club is striving to do more for all the former and current Michigan student-athletes, and all these individuals have expressed their desire to be a part of this growth."

Haudan, one of the new board members, was a four-year varsity letter winner on the Track and Field team, graduating in 2002. While a student-athlete, he was Vice President of the Student Athlete Advisory Council, helped to launch Mock Rock, and was selected to participate in the NCAA Leadership Conference. In addition, he received his MBA in 2010 from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

Currently, Haudan is a Managing Director at Root Inc., a consulting firm that helps Fortune 500 organizations align on and deploy their corporate strategy through their people.

Bertin, also a new board member, competed on the Wrestling team from 2001-2005. During his career at Michigan, he was a two-time NCAA Champion and a four-time All-American, weighing in at 157 pounds. He also served as a two-time team captain, and was a member of the 2005 NCAA runner-up team.

Bertin graduated from the Ross School of Business before beginning his real estate career at Paine/Wetzel Associates, Inc., a privately-held firm based in Chicago. He currently serves as a Senior Vice President at Paine/Wetzel.

Hess, the third newly elected board member, played volleyball for Michigan from 1976-1980. She received her Bachelor's degree from Michigan in 1980, and earned a Master's degree in exercise science from Western Michigan University in 1985.

Hess has been the head volleyball coach at Kalamazoo College since 1984. In addition to coaching, Hess serves as the chair of the Department of Physical Education, where she is also a professor, as well as the director of the Kalamazoo College Athletic Fund.

Carl and Faculak make up the incoming group of members-at-large. In their roles, members-at-large regularly attend board of directors meetings as non-voting members and provide pivotal support to various Letterwinners M Club initiatives.

Carl was a five-year member of the Football team from 2002-2006. After originally walking on as a quarterback, he played as a strong safety during his final four seasons. He was a part of two Big Ten Championship teams and attended three Rose Bowls while earning his Bachelor's degree in Sports Management and Communications, as well as a Master's degree in Kinesiology.

He is currently working in commercial real estate for Plante Moran Cresa, Plante Moran's real estate consulting division. In his role as senior associate, transaction management, Carl specializes in tenant representation in both the office and retail sectors.

Faculak attended U-M on a track scholarship for shot put and discus. During his tenure at Michigan, he placed seventh in the javelin competition at the Big Ten Championships for two consecutive years. He graduated from Michigan with a B.S. in Secondary Education in 1995.

After graduating, Faculak served four years in the Navy and changed career paths to focus on Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. He is currently serving as Director of Marketing Intelligence at Enlighten and lives in Grand Blanc, Michigan with his wife, Melissa, and two boys, Talon and Mason.

Levy, Benford, Green and Pandya comprise the group of M Club volunteers for the upcoming year. This position was created to provide interested letterwinners an inside look to the M Club and how it functions before pursuing a position as a member-at-large or board member.

Levy played baseball for legendary coach, Ray Fisher in the 1950s. Benford competed for women's golf in the late 1970s. Green received an honorary letter from the M Club in 2002 and has served Michigan Athletics in a variety of capacities. Pandya was a part of the women's rowing program in the early 2000s.
