Twenty-two athletes with ties to the University of Michigan, including current gymnasts Sam Mikulak and Syque Caesar and swimmer Connor Jaeger, competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Also on official delegations as coaches in London were three current Wolverine coaches, two former mentors, and a former student-athlete. Together they are representing 10 countries: United States (15), Canada (4), Bangladesh (1), Barbados (1), Great Britain (1), Ireland (2), New Zealand (1), Nigeria (1), Serbia (1) and Turkey (1).
