WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
Representing the United States in the 800-meter run, Geena Gall (2006-09) placed fourth in heat four of the opening round with a 2:03.85 clocking and advanced to the semifinals on time. She finished one place shy of the automatic qualifying spots, but with the sixth fastest time among non-automatic qualifiers she grabbed the last spot in the semifinals, which are scheduled for Thursday (Aug. 9) at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
Later in the day, Canadian representative Nicole (Edwards) Sifuentes (2005-08) finished 11th in the second heat of the 1,500-meter run semifinals in a time of 3:06.33 on Wednesday (Aug. 8) at Olympic Stadium. She did not qualify for the finals.

MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
Jeff Porter (USA) finished fifth in heat three of the 110-meter hurdles semifinals in a time of 13.41 on Wednesday (Aug. 8) at Olympic Stadium. Porter was the final Michigan men's track and field alum to compete in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
