Michigan moves to 16-42 all-time against Indiana with tonight's win. The defeat is the fifth straight for Michigan against the Hoosiers.
Tonight's game marks the first of two meetings in 10 days between the Wolverines and Hoosiers. Indiana will make the trek to Ann Arbor and Crisler Arena for a game televised on the Big Ten Network on Sunday, Jan. 24.
U-M is not the only basketball team taking on Indiana tonight. The Michigan men's team hosted the Indiana men's team tonight at Crisler Arena. This is the first time the teams have taken on the same team on the same day this season.
With only Carmen Reynolds in double figures, Michigan had only one player in double figures for the first time all season.
Freshman guard Dayeesha Hollins ended her four game streak of double-figure scoring with only two points in tonight's game.
Indiana's Hope Elam scored a game-high 24 points and is the second consecutive opponent to score 20 or more points on the Wolverines. Wisconsin's Taylor Wurtz recorded 27 points in Michigan's game against Wisconsin on Jan. 10.
Freshman guard Nya Jordan made her fifth consecutive appearance in tonight's game. She had a career night with six points, 18 minutes played and three assists.
The 62-60 game is the second game this season the Wolverines have lost by three points or less in Big Ten action. Michigan fell to Ohio State, 59-56, earlier this season.
Michigan falls to 3-7 when failing to reach 70 points. U-M last scored 70 points in a game in an 86-71 loss to Michigan State.
