Michigan Head Coach Kim Barnes Arico
On a five-point halftime lead ... "I thought we really shot the ball well in the first half and played well, but we were only up by five. I was concerned about that and I voiced my concern about that at halftime. I was not sure if we were going to be able to score the ball in the second half like we were in the first half."
On scoring six quick points to start the second half ... "I thought they did a great job running the plays out of halftime. I thought Brenae (Harris) really cut hard on that curl and Rachel (Sheffer) made a great pass. We talked about how important the first four minutes were going to be. If we came out and extended our lead that would force them to do some things differently and maybe go away. They had to change their game plan after that."
On Madison Ristovski ... "I thought she looked much better tonight, and she will continue to keep getting better. She will have some bumps in the road, but she had a few really good practices leading up to tonight. I think that playing at home; there might have been a little more pressure on her. She was definitely more comfortable tonight. She gave us some great minutes and didn't turn the ball over. I think she is going to keep getting better and better as this season goes on."
On the team's 10 blocks, including four from Kate Thompson ... "That really did make a difference. Kate has great length and we always tell her to just use that length to change shots. Tonight, she did a great job of altering shots and getting blocks. She did a really nice job of playing inside and we needed that from her."
