Michigan Head Coach Kim Barnes Arico
On the offensive struggles ... "I think they really did a good defensively of taking us out of our game. I think we kind of got frazzled right away. They were able to score on us quickly. When they took that lead, we had never been in a position like that this year; we didn't know how to respond to it. We couldn't get anything going offensively and we couldn't stop them defensively. Sometimes you have a rough start offensively, but at least you are able to slow them down. They really took advantage of us from the start."
On cutting the lead ... "We felt pretty good when we cut it to nine. I think all night, we couldn't stop them when we needed to and they made big shots when they needed to. We really couldn't get into a flow offensively."
On the play of Utah's Michelle Plouff and Taryn Wicijowski ... "I don't think we were able to stop them at all. I thought both Plouffe and Wicijowksi did an excellent job. They exposed us early on. They hurt us in man at the beginning of the game. Then we went to a zone and they were able to get comfortable. We knew they were going to be the two keys and we didn't do a good job on them."
On what to take away from a loss ... "Our schedule doesn't allow us to linger much about the loss because we have to turn around right away and play again. I think our concern is to obviously learn from the game and improve upon what need to improve upon, before we play again on Monday. With the quick turnaround, we have to get ready to go to play Seton Hall. The coaches will break it down, watch it and figure out how we can get better. For the kids, when they wake up tomorrow morning, it has to be all about Seton Hall."
