Michigan Head Coach Kevin Borseth
On covering Iowa State's three-point play down the middle of the court ... "We really had their three-point game covered well. At one point in the game, our girls were double teaming an Iowa State player, and they dumped the ball over the top to their open girl. That play resulted in some of the only points that they got off of that play. We worked on this pretty much all week long, but it was a very difficult type of play to stop. I think our kids did a pretty good job stopping it."
On Courtney Boylan's free throws throughout the game ... "At the end of the game, rebounds and free throws are what win the game. Defensive rebounds and free throws, in this environment, you have to make the free throws to pull through with a win. Courtney was able to knock them out, so it was good."
On Kate Thompson's performance ... "I thought that Kate had a great offensive rebound. That one offensive rebound that she had at the end of the game was absolutely critical. I thought Courtney's slip for a layup and Kate's offensive rebound were the two plays in my mind that really stood out. Kate plays hard; she is at the gym all the time. Basketball means a lot to her so it is nice to see her have some benefits from her effort. "
