• Michigan was without its leading scorer, Shannon Smith, for the second straight game. Smith was injured in the contest against Texas Tech (Nov. 29).

• For the second straight game, Michigan used the starting lineup of Madison Ristovski, Nicole Elmblad, Cyesha Goree, Val Driscoll and Siera Thompson.

Cyesha Goree scored a career-best 20 points, the first 20-point game of her career.

Danielle Williams scored the first points of her career on a three-pointer with 1:34 left in the first half.

Val Driscoll scored a career-high 12 points, the first double-digit scoring game of her career.

• The all-time series between Michigan and Virginia is now tied at 2-2.

• Michigan is now 5-2 all-time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. It is U-M's first win in the Challenge since the 2011-12 season.

• U-M is the only Big Ten team with five wins in the Challenge.

Madison Ristovski dished out a career-best nine assists.

• Michigan shot 53.8 percent from the floor in tonight's game, the third game over 50 percent for Michigan this season.

• Michigan recorded 21 assists in the contest, its fifth game this season with at least 20.

• Michigan is now 3-0 in true road games this season.

• Tonight's game is the final road contest for Michigan in the 2013 calendar year.

Paige Rakers has hit at least one three-pointer in eight of nine games this season.

• With four blocks tonight, Val Driscoll has totaled 10 in the last two games.

• Michigan is now 6-2 when outrebounding its opponent. U-M has not been outrebounded since the opening game of the season.
