The Wolverines moves to 14-9 all-time against Eastern Michigan with today's loss. The last Michigan victory over the Eagles came on Dec. 11, 1996, by a score of 100-75.
U-M moves to 75-51 all-time against teams currently in the Mid-American Conference. Michigan holds a perfect record against two Mid-American Conference members -- 1-0 against Buffalo and 3-0 against Kent State.
Overall, Michigan shot 46 percent (26-of-57) from the field. U-M shot 17 percent (2-of-12) from three-point range and was perfect (10-of-10) from the free throw line.
As a team, U-M posted a perfect (10-of-10) from the free throw line for the third time this season. Michigan also shot 100 percent against Washington State and Maryland earlier this season.
Rachel Sheffer led the Wolverines with 16 points on 5-of-9 (56 percent) shooting, including 6-of-6 (100 percent) from the free throw line.
For the first time this season, Michigan had four players in double figures for points in the game: Rachel Sheffer (16), Kate Thompson (13), Courtney Boylan (13) and Jenny Ryan (12). The last time Michigan had four players in double figures was Feb. 6, 2011-- Veronica Hicks (24), Kate Thompson (13), Rachel Sheffer (12), and Sam Arnold (10).
With the loss, Kevin Borseth moves to 2-2 all-time versus Eastern Michigan.
Michigan trailed at halftime for only the second time this season; the Maize and Blue now holds a 1-1 mark on the season when trailing at halftime.
U-M extended its three-point shooting streak to 169 consecutive games. The last time Michigan did not hit a three-pointer was during the 2005-06 season.
