Wolverines to Play at Virginia for Big Ten/ACC Challenge

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team will travel to Virginia to take on the Cavaliers as the matchups for the 2013 Big Ten/ACC Challenge were announced on Thursday (May 16). U-M and UVA will square off on Dec. 5, with game times and television coverage announced at a later date.

This will be the fourth meeting between Michigan and Virginia, with the Cavaliers holding a 2-1 advantage. The teams have not met since Dec. 28, 2002.

Michigan is 4-2 all-time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and has faced Duke, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Miami and NC State in past years. U-M is one of just two Big Ten schools to feature a winning record in Challenge games.

The Wolverines went 22-11 in 2012-13, tying the program record for wins and reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament for just the third time in program history.
