ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team will host Wake Forest on Dec. 3 at Crisler Center as part of the 2014 ACC/Big Ten Challenge as announced today (Wednesday, June 4) by both conferences. Game times and television coverage will be announced at a later date.

Michigan is 5-2 all-time in Challenge games and is the only Big Ten team with five wins. Michigan has picked up victories over Miami, NC State, Wake Forest, Virginia and Virginia Tech while falling to ranked opponents in Duke (No. 4) and Maryland (No. 8) since the Challenge began in 2007.

U-M is 1-0 all-time against Wake Forest, winning the lone matchup against the Demon Deacons as part of the 2010 Challenge at Crisler (91-58). Wake Forest went 15-16 with a 5-11 ACC record in 2013-14.

The Maize and Blue is coming off its third straight 20-win season after going 20-14 and making a WNIT third-round appearance last season. The Wolverines return their top five scorers from the 2013-14 season in senior guard Shannon Smith (Gastonia, N.C./Forestview [Trinity Valley CC]), sophomore guard Siera Thompson (Gardena, Calif./Serra), senior forward Cyesha Goree (Grand Rapids, Mich./Wyoming Park), senior guard Nicole Elmblad (St. Ignace, Mich./LaSalle) and junior guard Madison Ristovski (Sterling Heights, Mich./Liggett).
