After falling behind by 14 points after the first quarter, Canada closed the deficit to two points in the fourth quarter but its rally came up short as Australia defeated Canada, 72-63, on Sunday (Aug. 5) at London Basketball Arena. Krista Phillips earned the start, playing 12 minutes before fouling out with 52.9 seconds remaining in the contest. She was held scoreless on 0-for-3 shooting, grabbing one rebound and handing out one assist.
Canada finishes preliminary play in Group B with a 2-3 record and advances to quarterfinal action for the first time since 1984. The team will play again on Tuesday (Aug. 7) to open quarterfinal play.

Canada raced out to a 14-point halftime lead before hanging on for a 79-73 win over Brazil on Friday (Aug. 3) at London Basketball Arena. With the win, Canada has clinched a spot in quarterfinal action with one opening-round game remaining. Krista Phillips once again earned the start, scoring eight points on 4-for-6 shooting, handing out four assists and grabbing three rebounds in 23 minutes of action.

Team Canada cut a seven-point deficit to two with nine seconds remaining, but its rally fell short as France escaped with a 64-60 victory at London Basketball Arena. Krista Phillips played 17 minutes and scored four points on 2-for-7 shooting while grabbing a game-high seven rebounds. Canada was down by seven with 17 seconds remaining but scored five points while only one second ticked off the clock before France iced the game with a pair of free throws with eight seconds to go. Canada is now 1-2 in Group B pool play with two games remaining.

MONDAY, JULY 30
With four minutes remaining and the score tied at 61, Team Canada went on a 12-4 run to close the contest en route to a 73-65 win over Great Britain in the second game of Group B action at London Basketball Arena. Former Wolverine Krista Phillips (2007-10) earned the start and played 17 minutes, scoring six points on 2-for-8 shooting and grabbing four rebounds. It was Canada's first Olympic victory since Sept. 24, 2000.

Former Wolverine Krista Phillips' (2007-10) Olympic debut with Canada was spoiled by by Russia, which rallied from 10 points down in the fourth quarter for a 58-53 win in the opening game of Group B action at the London Basketball Arena. Phillips, who played 10 minutes before fouling out, scored four points on 2-for-3 shooting, grabbed three rebounds, and added one assist.
