ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team announced its 13-game non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2012-13 season on Friday (Aug. 24).
The Wolverines will host nine games at newly renovated Crisler Center in head coach Kim Barnes Arico's first season at the helm. U-M will kick off the Arico era by welcoming Detroit to Crisler Center on Nov. 9.
In the non-conference slate, the Maize and Blue will face a trio of 2012 NCAA Tournament participants. U-M will host Duke on Nov. 28 as part of the 2012 ACC/Big Ten Challenge and Florida on Dec. 1 at Crisler before traveling to Ypsilanti to face Eastern Michigan on Dec. 11.
Michigan will wrap up the non-conference schedule with three consecutive home games, hosting Western Michigan on Dec. 15, Valparaiso on Dec. 20 and Niagara on Dec. 29 before starting the conference season.
The Big Ten portion of the schedule will be announced at a later date.
The Wolverines finished the 2011-12 season with a 20-12 overall record and an 8-8 mark in Big Ten action, earning an NCAA Tournament berth for the first time since the 2000-01 season.
