Sept. 27, 2012
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team announced all remaining game times and television designations for the 2012-13 season in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference on Thursday (Sept. 26). U-M will appear on the Big Ten Network at least seven times during the regular season.
Michigan's lone non-conference contest to appear on BTN will be against Valparaiso on Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. During the conference slate, the Wolverines will appear on national television six times, including home and away contests against both Michigan State (Feb. 4, Feb. 16) and Penn State (Jan. 21, Feb. 24). The Maize and Blue will also be featured on the Big Ten Network against Wisconsin on Jan. 13 and Purdue on Feb. 10.
U-M's final two games of the conference schedule against Northwestern (Feb. 28) and Ohio State (March 3) could be picked up by the BTN as a wildcard selection.
In addition to Michigan's nationally televised contests, 14 games will be offered through BTN.com.
The Maize and Blue will host Slippery Rock in an exhibition contest on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. before officially kicking off the Kim Barnes Arico era against Detroit on Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. Barnes Arico was named the ninth head coach in program history in April and inherits a squad that went 20-12 in 2011-12, earning its first NCAA Tournament bid since the 2000-01 season.
