ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Junior guard/forward Nicole Elmblad (St. Ignace, Mich./LaSalle) of the University of Michigan women's basketball team was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll on Monday afternoon (Nov. 25).
Elmblad helped Michigan to a pair of victories last week -- over Western Michigan (73-45) on Monday (Nov. 18) and Pitt (83-75) on Wednesday (Nov. 20). At WMU, Elmblad scored eight points and grabbed 13 boards, which tied a career high, in 34 minutes of action. She also chipped in four assists, a block and a steal.
In Michigan's win over Pitt, the lefty tied a career high with 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds with three assists. For the week, she averaged 13.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
U-M is back in action this weekend (Nov. 29-30) at the Barclays Center Women's Invitational. Michigan will face Texas Tech on Friday morning (Nov. 29) at 10:30 a.m. U-M's second game will be on Saturday (Nov. 30) against either Rutgers or No. 15 LSU.
