Leslie Smith scored two second-half markers and Courtney Enge added an insurance tally as No. 2 seed Michigan opened Big Ten Tournament play with a 3-0 quarterfinal win over No. 7 seed Rutgers.
U-M rallied for a 2-1 win to take first place in the Big Ten from Northwestern.
