Michigan scores seven goals in a game for the first time since Oct. 3, 2009, when the Maize and Blue defeated Saint Louis 7-0.
This is the first meeting between the two schools. Michigan now is 5-2 all-time against teams from the Ivy League.
Michigan has now won 12 straight games in Evanston, Ill. This includes winning the 2004 and 2010 Big Ten Tournaments on the Northwestern campus. The last loss by Michigan in Evanston was on Nov. 3, 2001, in a 3-0 loss to Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament.
Michigan had six different goal scorers for the first time since that Saint Louis win in 2009. In that game, seven different Wolverines had goals.
Michigan scored four goals in the first half for the second time this season. The Wolverines had four goals in the first 35 minutes in a 5-1 win over Miami on Sept. 24.
Michelle Roberts scored two goals in today's win. It is her second multi-goal game of the season. She had two goals in a 5-0 win over Central Michigan on Sept. 9.
Ainsley McCallister now has goals in back-to-back games after scoring her first goal of the season in a win over Northwestern and opening the scoring today.
Bryn Bain continues her point scoring streak at five games after dishing out two assists.
Rachael Mack had the game-winning goal today. Mack now has six career game-winning goals for Michigan.
