CHANDLER, Ariz. -- University of Michigan field hockey senior captain Rachael Mack (Bromsgrove, England/Bromsgrove School) has been selected to participate in the 2013 Front Rush/NFHCA Division I Senior Game, the league announced Thursday (Oct. 31). Mack was named to the 38-player lineup, which boasts seven representatives from the Big Ten Conference
The annual competition is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex at 2:15 p.m. in Virginia Beach, Va. Any individual whose team makes the Final Four will not participate in the all-star contest, as it is slated for the weekend of the NCAA semifinals and championship game.
A three-time NFHCA All-American, Mack has ranked as the Wolverines' leading scorer in each of her four collegiate seasons, compiling 70 career goals and 160 points to set new program records in both categories. She is a two-time All-Big Ten first team honoree, earning unanimous selection last season and was named the Big Ten Tournament MVP as a freshman in 2010. This season, she lists among the nation's leading scorers with 18 goals and 42 points.
Mack and the Wolverine squad will complete the regular-season portion of its 2013 schedule this weekend with a pair of Big Ten home games. U-M will host No. 6 Penn State at 4 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 1) before closing out the weekend with a noon slate against Indiana on Sunday (Nov. 3) at Phyllis Ocker Field.
