The Tournament Lineup
With four of the five starting spots set for the event, senior captain Ashley Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS), junior Min Yean Tan (Penang Island, Malaysia/Hills International College [Australia]), sophomore Meagan Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS) and senior Andrea Ratigan (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino HS) will all compete in the spring opener. Junior Katelin Davis (Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS) and junior/sophomore Jenn Cleary (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing HS) will use the practice round to determine who will play the fifth spot for U-M.

Former Wolverine George Named Assistant Coach
U-M coach Cheryl Stacy announced the hiring of former Wolverine Chrissie George as her new assistant coach. For the last five years, George worked with the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan as a career services coordinator. George, who graduated from Michigan with a bachelor's degree in history in 2004, walked onto the Michigan women's golf team as a junior (2002-03) after earning a spot during the fall tryout period. Despite not competing in an event, she earned U-M Athletic Academic Achievement honors in her one season with the Wolverines.

Longevity Continues
With her expected start at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, Ashley Bauer has yet to miss a tournament in her career, playing in 41 straight events. Bauer is one of two Wolverines with consecutive-event streaks along with Min Yean Tan, who has played in 29 straight events in her three seasons. The U-M record for consecutive events played is held by Laura Olin (2002-05), who started 50 consecutive events.

Model of Consistency
Ashley Bauer, who has never missed a U-M event, continues to be the 'model of consistency' for the Wolverines. Her current career average of 75.98 is the best for any golfer in U-M history. In 41 career events, she has posted 24 top-20 finishes with 16 in the top 10 and eight in the top five. Bauer won her first collegiate even last season at 2008 Wolverine Invitational.

Follow the Leader
After tying for eighth at the Challenge at Onion Creek, Ashley Bauer has now finished as the top Wolverine in 24 of her 41 career events and has eight career top-five finishes. Her recent finish also marked her 10th straight event finishing, or tying for, the top Wolverine spot in an event dating back to the 2008-09 season.

Well on Her Away to Setting the Best All-Time
Through five events this fall, Ashley Bauer has been on fire, averaging 72.47 per round. That current mark is more than two strokes better than Amy Schmucker's school record of 75.03, set during the 2005-06 season. So far this season, Bauer has posted five par-or-better rounds in her 15 total.

Oh So Close, Again
Twice this season, Ashley Bauer closed as the individual runner-up in a tournament -- just one shot away from medalist honors. To open the season, Bauer closed a shot behind James Madison's Nicole Sakamoto for the Mary Fossum Invitational title, and finished one shot behind Purdue's Maude-Aimee LeBlanc for the Windy City Collegiate title. She now has four career top-two finishes.

Add Another School Record
Ashley Bauer's second round, four-under 68 at the Mary Fossum Invitational, not only ties her career best, but it also helps her tie her own U-M single-round record, which she shares with four other Wolverines. In total, there are five players in U-M's "68" Club -- Bauer, Kim Benedict (2000-03), Laura Olin (2002-05), Amy Schmucker (2003-06) and LeAnna Wicks (1999-2002). Bauer is the only Wolverine to have reached the record round twice in her career. Bauer also holds, or shares, the U-M record for 18-, 36- and 54-hole tournament tallies at U-M.

Add Yet Another School Record
For the second time this fall, Ashley Bauer tied her own school-record round for a 54-hole tournament total with her 212 tally at the Challenge at Onion Creek. She shot 212 earlier this season at the Windy City Collegiate. Bauer also shot a 212 at the 2007 Mountain View Challenge and shares the honor with Kim Benedict (2000-03), who shot her 212 at the 2001 Shootout at the Legends.

Saving the Best For Last
Michigan closed the fall season with a season-best 877 54-hole tournament total at the Challenge at Onion Creek. It topped the 895 the Wolverines tallied at the Windy City Collegiate. The Wolverines descended all three of their team rounds for the first time this season. In fact, it was the first tournament this season U-M posted three rounds under 300 -- 294, 292 and 291. The final round 291 ended the fall season with a season-best single-round tally. It bettered the 292 U-M had in the second round at the Challenge and 292 U-M tallied in the second round of the Windy City Collegiate.

Closing the Fall with a Bang
After closing with a 216 54-hole tournament total at the Challenge at Onion Creek, Andrea Ratigan lowered her career best by six strokes. Her prior-best 54-hole total was a 222 at the 2007 Mountain View Challenge during her first season with U-M. The fall-closing tally gives her five career 54-hole events under 230 and her second straight.

Even More from Her Final Fall Event
With her final-round 70 at the Challenge at Onion Creek, Andrea Ratigan set a career-best single-round tally. Starting off at the ninth hole, she played her first 10 holes even with two birdies, Nos. 13 and 16, to erase a double bogey on No. 14. She made the turn to the front and birdied Nos. 1 and 5 to sit two under with three holes left. An unfortunate double bogey on No. 6 put her back at even where she finished the round. The senior topped the 71 she had during the second round of the 2007 Mountain View Challenge

Let's Change the Career Best Again
For the fourth time in five fall events, Meagan Bauer set or tied her career best for a 54-hole tournament total. With her 228 at the Challenge at Onion Creek, Bauer equaled her 228 output from her last event at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate. Two weeks prior, she posted a 230 at the Windy City Classic and began the year with a 231 at the Mary Fossum invitational. In the season opener, Bauer fired a career-best one-under 71 at the Mary Fossum. She has started all five events this season and has posted a career-best 76.67 scoring average, topping last year's by nearly four-and-a-half strokes (81.00).

Red Rounds Equal Career Best Marks
Min Yean Tan posted back-to-back career-best rounds of one-under 71 in the first and second rounds of the 2009 Windy City Collegiate. The rounds mark her first sub-par rounds of her career. She topped her round of 72 she had last year in the first round of the 2008 Windy City Collegiate and the 72 she had in the second round of the 2008 Indiana Invitational. She is averaging a career-best 75.67 strokes per round.

Lowering Her Best Yet Again
Katelin Davis recorded a career-best 54-hole tournament tally of 234 at the Challenge at Onion Creek. She lowered her prior best by three shots, a 237 tally at the Windy City Classic. Davis has started all five events this fall and is averaging a career-best 80.00 per round.

Sister Act, Part 3
During the 2007-08 season, the Wolverines had the Davis sisters, Lindsay and Katelin, on the roster. After Lindsay graduated, the sisterly act continued as Ashley Bauer welcomed her younger sister, Meagan, to the team last year. Now in 2009-10, the Bauer's added yet another sister, Shana, to give them three on the roster.

All In the Family
In addition to all three Bauer sisters on the roster, newcomer Caramia Sitompul also has a family pairing at U-M. Her brother, Alexander, is a junior with the men's program and earned All-America honorable mention honors last year after helping U-M to a national semifinalist finish.

The Maize and Blue Postseason Resume
Michigan has been represented in NCAA regional competition by the U-M team or an individual in seven of the last nine seasons, making team appearances in 2001, '02, '05, '07 and '09. Laura Olin (2004) and Amy Schmucker (2006) have made central regional appearances as individuals. In 2002, the Wolverines finished sixth at the central regional in East Lansing, Mich., to advance to their first NCAA Finals appearance, where the Maize and Blue finished 17th.

A Very Full Showcase
Michigan has 30 tournament titles in the history of the program. Of those 30 titles, 11 have been won during the last six years -- two in 2003-04, four in 2004-05, one in 2005-06, two in 2006-07, none in 2007-08 and two in 2008-09.
