What We Did This Winter ... Move!
Following the five-tournament fall schedule, both Michigan women's and men's golf teams moved into its new practice facility -- the Weisfeld Family Golf Center. After starting construction last September, the $2.5 million, 10,000 gross-square-foot building was dedicated and open for both programs. The new facility, set off South Main Street on the west side of the driving range of the U-M Golf Course, provides indoor/outdoor hitting bays, chipping and putting area, a golf simulator area, meeting areas, team room, coaches offices and new locker rooms. What We Did This Winter ... Sign One Newcomer
U-M coach Cheryl Stacy announced in mid-November the signing of Catherine "Cat" Peters (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence HS) to a National Letter of Intent for the 2012-13. For two years, Peters played her prep golf on the Clarence boys varsity team, before the school created a girls program in 2010. A captain in 2011, she finished fourth at the New York State High School Girls Golf Championship. [ Full Release ]

How About That Fall Season
Michigan posted four top-five finishes during its fall season -- tying for second at the Challenge at Onion Creek, placing third at Mary Fossum Invitational and the Lady Northern as well as closing fourth at Bettie Lou Evans Fall Invitational. In fact, the Wolverines started the fall with three straight top-five finishes, a feat not duplicated since the 2008-09 season.

Becoming a Force
Yugene Lee closed the fall season with four top-25 individual finishes -- medalist runner-up at the Mary Fossum Invitational, tying for 11th at the Challenge at Onion Creek, tying for 12th at the Lady Northern and tying for 21st at the Bettie Lou Evans Fall Invitational. She led the Wolverines with a 75.53 per round average, which currently is rated as the fourth best all-time at U-M.

Stepping Up in Fall Finale
Linda Luo had a career-best tournament to close the fall season at the Challenge at the Onion Creel. She set career marks for single round (69, -1), 54-hole tournament tally (213), and finish (tie for 2nd). With her first-round one-under 69, she became the 12th Wolverine ever to record a single tournament round below 70.

Breaking Through with Individual Title
Meagan Bauer's medalist honor at the Lady Northern marked the 26th overall time a U-M player has won an individual title and is the first for a Wolverine since the 2009-10. The last Wolverine to win an individual title was Meagan's sister, Ashley (2007-10), who won the 2010 Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational. Meagan and her sister Ashley are the first sisters to win individual titles in Michigan history.
