Next on the Tee
With the end of the regular-season schedule upon the University of Michigan women's golf team, the Wolverines will close in Big Ten country, heading over to Bloomington, Ind., Saturday and Sunday (April 10-11) for the 2010 Indiana Invitational. The 54-hole event will be played at the IU Golf Course. The course will be set up for a par 72 and 6,142 yards.

The Tournament Field
There will be 15 schools participating in the 2010 Indiana Invitational: Ball State, Colorado, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Iowa, Lipscomb, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri State, Missouri-Kansas City, Oakland and Western Michigan.

The Tournament Schedule
Friday, April 9 -- Registration and Practice Round
Saturday, April 10 -- First & Second Round (36) -- 8:30 a.m., shotgun and continuous play
Sunday, April 11 -- Final Round (18) -- 8:30 a.m., shotgun

The Tournament Lineup
Michigan will travel a five-player team to the 2010 Indiana Invitational. Heading up the squad will be senior captain Ashley Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS) and senior Andrea Ratigan (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino HS). Junior Min Yean Tan (Penang Island, Malaysia/Hills International College [Australia]), sophomore Meagan Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS) and junior Katelin Davis (Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS) will round out the Wolverine starting five. Freshman Caramia Sitompul (Jakarta, Indonesia/Bradenton Prep Academy [Fla.]) will also travel and play as an invited individual.

Familiar Foes
When the Wolverines head to the Indiana Invitational, they will see a pair of familiar foes as former assistant coach Sandy Wagner is the head coach for Eastern Michigan and former Wolverine and All-Big Ten selection Brianna Broderick is the head coach for Missouri-Kansas City.

Longevity Continues
After her expected start at the Mountain View Challenge, Ashley Bauer has yet to miss a tournament in her career, playing in 45 straight events. Bauer is one of two Wolverines with consecutive-event streaks along with Min Yean Tan, who has played in 33 straight events in her three seasons. The U-M record for consecutive events played is held by Laura Olin (2002-05), who started 50 consecutive events.

Model of Consistency
Ashley Bauer, who has never missed a U-M event, continues to be the 'model of consistency' for the Wolverines. Her current career average of 75.78 is the best for any golfer in U-M history. In 45 career events, she has posted 26 top-20 finishes with 18 in the top 10 and nine in the top five. Bauer has won two collegiate events in her career -- the 2008 Wolverine Invitational and the 2010 Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational.

Well on Her Away to Setting the Best All-Time
Through nine events this season, Ashley Bauer has been on fire, averaging 73.04 per round. That current mark is just over two strokes better than Amy Schmucker's school record of 75.03 set during the 2005-06 season. So far this season, Bauer has posted eight par-or-better rounds, with a U-M record tying 68 three times.

Give Her Four on the Record Board
After shooting back-to-back rounds of three-under 68, Ashley Bauer posted her third and fourth time equaling U-M's all-time single round. Of the five members of U-M's "68" Club, Bauer is the only Wolverine to post multiple record rounds -- four of them. In addition to Bauer, Kim Benedict (2000-03), Laura Olin (2002-05), Amy Schmucker (2003-06) and LeAnna Wicks (1999-2002) have shot the U-M record round of 68.

Add One More School Record
Ashley Bauer's four-under 209 54-hole tally at the Rio Verde Invitational was not only a career-best total but set a new U-M record for a 54-hole event. Bauer's tally at Quail Run topped the prior record of 212 held by Bauer (2007 Mountain View Challenge) and Kim Benedict (2000-03, 2001 Shootout at the Legends). In her career, Bauer holds U-M records for 18-, 36- and 54-hole tournament scores, lowest single-round tally (68), all-time career scoring record, and is on pace to set the single-season U-M scoring record.

Oh So Close Once, and then Again
Twice this season, Ashley Bauer closed as the individual runner-up in a tournament -- just one shot away from medalist honors. To open the season, Bauer closed a shot behind James Madison's Nicole Sakamoto for the Mary Fossum Invitational title, and finished one shot behind Purdue's Maude-Aimee LeBlanc for the Windy City Collegiate title.

Picking Up Her Final Season of Play
After closing the fall season shooting a career-best 70, leading her to a career-best 216 54-hole tournament total at the Challenge at Onion Creek, Andrea Ratigan has continued to be a mainstay in the U-M lineup throughout the spring. At the 2010 Rio Verde Collegiate, she posted her first career top-five finish after tying for third with a 220 tally. She has started all nine events in her final season and is averaging a career-best 77.07 strokes per round.

Topping Big Sis
As Ashley Bauer continues to have a record setting senior year, little sister Meagan put a stop to at least one streak. By virtue of Meagan's tie 23rd at the 2010 Mountain View Challenge, she snapped Ashley's 13-tournament streak of leading U-M at an event.

Let's Change the Career Best Again
Five times this season, Meagan Bauer has set or tied her career best for a 54-hole tournament total. Bauer's 223 tally at the 2010 Lady Puerto Rico Classic gave her a fifth best tally this season. In addition, Bauer fired a career-best single-round tally this season after posting one-under 71 at the Mary Fossum. She has started all nine events this season and has posted a career-best 76.59 scoring average, topping last year's by nearly four-and-a-half strokes (81.00).

Red Rounds Equal Career Best Marks
Min Yean Tan tied a career best with a second-round, even-par 71 at the 2010 Rio Verde Collegiate. She equaled the round of 71 she shot in back-to-back rounds earlier this season at the 2009 Windy City Classic. In her third season, she is averaging a career-best 76.41 strokes per round.

U-M Garners First Team Win for Stacy
Michigan's team title at the Rio Verde Invitational gives U-M coach Cheryl Stacy her first team victory in her first season in charge of the Maize and Blue. With the team victory at the Rio Verde Invitational, Michigan has 31 tournament titles in the history of the program. Of those 31 titles, 12 have been won during the last seven years. In addition, Michigan's victory at the Rio Verde Invitational marked the second time the Wolverines have won the event. In addition to the 2010 title, U-M won the 2005 event with a 900 (303-301-296) tally. U-M becomes the first team to ever win Rio Verde Invitational twice in the tournament's history

Sister Act, Part 3
During the 2007-08 season, the Wolverines had the Davis sisters, Lindsay and Katelin, on the roster. After Lindsay graduated, the sisterly act continued as Ashley Bauer welcomed her younger sister, Meagan, to the team last year. Now in 2009-10, the Bauer's added yet another sister, Shana, to give them three on the roster.

All In the Family
In addition to all three Bauer sisters on the roster, newcomer Caramia Sitompul also has a family pairing at U-M. Her brother, Alexander, is a junior with the men's program and earned All-America honorable mention last year after helping U-M to a national semifinalist finish.

The Maize and Blue Postseason Resume
Michigan has been represented in NCAA regional competition by the U-M team or an individual in seven of the last nine seasons, making team appearances in 2001, '02, '05, '07 and '09. Laura Olin (2004) and Amy Schmucker (2006) have made central regional appearances as individuals. In 2002, the Wolverines finished sixth at the central regional in East Lansing, Mich., to advance to their first NCAA Finals appearance, where the Maize and Blue finished 17th.

A Very Full Showcase
Michigan has 31 tournament titles in the history of the program. Of those 31 titles, 12 have been won during the last seven years -- two in 2003-04, four in 2004-05, one in 2005-06, two in 2006-07, none in 2007-08, two in 2008-09 and one in 2009-10.
