The University of Michigan women's golf team will wrap up its regular season Monday and Tuesday (April 8-9) for the 2013 Marsh Landing Invitational in Jacksonsville, Fla. The 54-hole event, featuring a 20-team field, will be played at Marsh Landing Country Club. The golf course will be set up for a par of 72 and 6,056 yards.
The Tournament Field
There will be 20 teams in the field for the 2013 Marsh Landing Invitational, including Central Florida, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Daytona State College, East Carolina, Florida International, Florida State, Illinois, Iowa State, Jacksonville, James Madison, Kennesaw State, Maryland, Michigan, North Florida, Purdue, Sam Houston State, Stetson and Texas Tech.

Sunday, April 7 -- Practice Round, shotgun start at 1:30 p.m.
Monday, April 8 -- First Round (18), shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Monday, April 8 -- Second Round (18), continuous play following first round
Tuesday, April 9 -- Final Round (18), shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
The Wolverine Lineup
The Wolverines will have a five-member starting squad as well as one individual in Jacksonville. Starting for the Maize and Blue will be sophomore Linda Luo (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch HS), sophomore Lauren Grogan (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson HS), freshman Catherine Peters (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence HS), junior Alicia Weber (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) and junior Chelsea Pezzola (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Stephens Episcopal Prep). Traveling as U-M's individual will be freshman Ella Pendy (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Grosse Pointe South HS).
Linda Luo (75.96) and Lauren Grogan (77.00) lead U-M in scoring average, and one of them has finished as the top Wolverine in seven of the eight events this season. In fact, the Wolverine duo has finished 1-2 for U-M in the last seven straight events.
Linda Luo's current scoring average of 75.96 ranks eighth all-time for a single season.
Linda Luo has four top-20 individual finishes in eight events this season. She was third at the Mary Fossum Invitational (Sept. 15-16), tied for sixth at the Wolverine Invitational (Sept. 22-23), tied for 15th at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate (Oct. 28-29) and tied for 18th at the FSU Match Up Invitational (Feb. 15-17).
Ella Pendy played in her second career event and posted a career-best 240 total at the Clover Cup Invitational (March 8-10), bettering her previous best by 19 shots. She fired three straight career-best rounds of 80. She will play as an individual at the Marsh Landing Invitational.
Michigan has two top-five team finishes, including tying for the team title at the Wolverine Invitational held at the U-M Golf Course and tying for fourth at the Edwin Watts Palmetto Intercollegiate.
Alicia Weber captured her first career medalist honor by winning the Wolverine Invitational, playing as an individual. A transfer from Cal Poly, Weber posted her prior best finish as runner-up at the 2010 Lamkin Grip/Cal Poly Invitational.
With its win at the Wolverine Invitational, U-M recorded its 32nd team title in program history and second under head coach Cheryl Stacy. In 28 women's golf events played on the U-M Golf Course, Michigan has claimed 10 team titles and nine individual titles.
Michigan will carry nine players this season, none of which will comprise a senior class. The Wolverines will carry four juniors, three sophomores and two freshmen.
U-M has been represented in regional competition by the team or an individual in 10 of the last 12 seasons, making team appearances in 2001, '02, '05, '07, '09, '11 and '12.
LAST TIME OUT
In its last tournament, Michigan finished 14th at the SDSU Farms Invitational (March 31-April 2) hosted by San Diego State at The Farms Golf Club. The Wolverines posted rounds of 325, 331 and 324 for a 980 total in the three-day, 54-hole event. Linda Luo tied for 37th with her 235 (82-79-74), while Lauren Grogan also logged a top-40 finish, tying for 39th at 236 (79-79-78).
