Aug. 20, 2014 -- Megan Kim competed as an amateur on the Sun Coast Pro Golf Tour this week, tying for 73rd place among a field of 96. Kim played her three rounds at the Arnold Palmer Course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., progressing each day to the tune of a 79-78-74 scoring card to produce a 231 total. Aug. 13, 2014 -- The Maize and Blue was represented by a trio of players, and head coach Jan Dowling , at the 98th Michigan Women's Amateur this week. Emily White, Alicia Weber and Julia Montgomery competed among the 86-player field through a soggy two days of stroke play, before all three advanced to the match-play bracket on Wednesday (Aug.13), featuring the field's top 32 golfers. For the final spot in the bracket, Coach Dowling earned her way into the field by winning an early-morning playoff. Aug. 5, 2014 -- A summer-best six Wolverines competed in the same event this week, when recent graduates Alyssa Shimel and Alicia Weber teamed up with returning players Lauren Grogan and Catherine Peters and newcomers Emily White and Julia Montgomery at the Ohio Women's Open. Shimel (tie-13th) led the way with her 146 total, and Weber (tie-23rd) also earned a top-25 finish with her two-day score of 150. Aug. 1, 2014 -- Emily White enjoyed a successful week at the 88th WWGA National Junior Championship, cruising into match play after qualifying rounds of 78 and 75. Upon completion of qualifying rounds, White was named the Junior Tournament's medalist and awarded the Marion Miley Bracelet, given to the player with the lowest combined total at the WWGA Am and Junior tournaments. White then advanced from the match-play round of 32 by defeating Louise McCullough in 20 holes before defeating Elizabeth Win, 4 and 3, in the round of 16 and eventually fell, 2 down, to Annika Bovender, the eventual winner, in the semifinal. Aug. 1, 2014 -- At the 2014 Women's Trans Amateur Championship this week, Julia Montgomery tied for 52nd place with a 315 total. The event was played in Elgin, S.C., at the Members Club at Woodcreek.

Aug. 1, 2014 -- Kathy Lim was part of a five-player tie for 20th at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship, played at Thornhill Golf and Country Club in Vaughan, Ontario. July 25, 2014 -- The U-M team was represented by three soon-to-be Wolverines and one recent alumnus in the Canadian Women's Amateur Championship last week. Recent graduate Alicia Weber joined with incoming freshmen Emily White and Megan Kim along with incoming transfer student Julia Montgomery to represent the Maize and Blue. Weber and White missed the weekend cut, finishing with two-round totals of 154 and 155, respectively, while Kim's four-round score of 304 earned her a tie for 64th place, and Montgomery finished in a tie for 30th with a 293 weekend total. July 16, 2014 -- Three Wolverines competed in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links (WAPL) Championship last week: returning senior Lauren Grogan, recent graduate Alyssa Shimel and incoming freshman Megan Kim. Grogan and Shimel qualified for the event back at the end of May, while Kim earned her spot in early June. The tournament featured 36 holes of stroke play before the cut to create a field for match play, but no Wolverines were able to edge their way into the championship bracket, despite Grogan and Shimel finishing just two strokes off the cut line of 148. Grogan shot a pair of 75s, while Shimel countered her first-round 79 with a 71 in the second round. Kim's pair of 76s left her with a 152 total, four strokes off the mark. July 11, 2014 -- A newcomer in the fall, Kathy Lim, put together a great week at the B.C. Women's Amateur at Kamloops Golf and Country Club in Kamloops, British Columbia. Lim started off well with a first-round 74 and followed it with a 76 on day two. Then she rounded out the tournament with a 72 on day three and a final-round 75 to bring her to a five-over 297 total, just three shots off a top-10 finish. [ B.C. Women's Am Results ]

July 8, 2014 -- The Maize and Blue were represented by a pair of future Wolverines at the Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) Championships this week. Soon-to-be freshman Emily White and incoming transfer Julia Montgomery both competed in the event, finishing with 152 and 153 totals, respectively. [ Round One Results | Round Two Results ]

July 7, 2014 -- Lauren Grogan came up just short of qualifying at her U.S. Women's Am Qualifying event earlier this week at the Ravisloe Country Club, LLC, in Homewood, Ill. Grogan turned in a 74 total, finishing just two strokes shy of being part of the group's seven qualifiers, after carding a 36 on the front nine and a 38 after turning the corner. July 4, 2014 -- Incoming Wolverine Kathy Lim finished in second place at the B.C. Junior Girls' Championship at The Dunes course at Kamloops Golf Club last weekend. Lim played consistently well over the weekend, racking up three straight 71s, before a final-round 75 left her at four under par. Lim finished with a 288 total to take the medalist runner-up. [ B.C. July 1, 2014 -- Grace Choi was unable to qualify at the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier at Prestonwood Country Club this week in Dallas, Texas. There were 10 qualifying spots available, and Choi was two under over her final 10 holes, but she was not able to put herself in a position to advance. June 30, 2014 -- Returning senior Lauren Grogan had a long week at the Judson Golf events played at Country Club of Roswell in Roswell, Ga. Grogan and Team Finney, featuring LPGA pro Allison Finney as team captain, finished tied for fifth in the Pro-Am Challenge on Friday, finishing at 14 under, which was two strokes off the leaders. June 26, 2014 -- Incoming Wolverines Emily White and Julia Montgomery had strong showings at the WWGA National Amateur Championship this week. The event featured 36 holes of stroke play to qualify for a 64-player field for match play and was played at the Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pa. White qualified for match play in the 15th seed after a 72-79/151 total in stroke play, while Montgomery arrived at a 157 total with scores of 79 and 78. Both golfers won their first matchup in the round of 64, with White defeating Lexie Toth in 19 holes and Montgomery dispatching of the seventh overall seed, Valerie Tanguay, 1-up. Both golfers fell in the round of 32, where White was eliminated by Emmy Martin, 2-and-1, and Montgomery was defeated by Cammie Gray, 1-up. [ WWGA National Amateur Championship ]

June 25, 2014 -- Alicia Weber earned a tie for 20th this week at the 2014 Michigan PGA Women's Championship. Entering the final day of play, Alicia was tied for 31st, but she rose up the leaderboard with a strong outing, finishing the round at even par with a birdie on No. 18 to close the weekend with a 222 total. June 18, 2014 -- Incoming freshman Emily White earned an alternate qualifying spot at the U.S. Girls' Junior Sectional earlier this week. White fired a single-round score of 75 at the Walnut Country Club in South Lyon, Mich., to earn one of two available spots reserved for alternates. [ Scorecard ]

June 13, 2014 -- A pair of Wolverines competed in the 2014 Women's Porter Cup last week at Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston, N.Y., returning junior Catherine Peters and incoming transfer student Julia Montgomery. Peters tied for 22nd in her home state, finishing with a three-round total of 223, while Montgomery was part of a three-way tie for seventh, six strokes ahead of Peters. [ Porter Cup | Scorecard ]

June 7, 2014 -- With a 73 at the Zone Championship, incoming freshman Kathy Lim finished as the event's medalist runner-up. The tournament was played at Point Grey Golf & Country Club in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

June 4, 2014 -- Incoming freshman Megan Kim qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship with a 73 at the Goose Creek Golf Club in Mira Loma, Calif. Kim claimed one of 16 reserved spots in the qualifying sectional.

June 2, 2014 -- Returning senior Lauren Grogan finished third at the TaylorMade Midwest Collegiate Amateur Series, played at Red Hawk Run in Findlay, Ohio. June 2, 2014 -- Grace Choi competed in the WAPL Qualifying event played at the Bridges Course at Firewheel Golf Park in Garland, Texas. May 28, 2014 -- Head coach Jan Dowling joined Lauren Grogan and incoming transfer student Julia Montgomery in competing at the Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club for the WAPL Sectional Qualifier in Grand Blanc, Mich. May 28, 2014 -- Alyssa Shimel played a great round at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links (WAPL)Qualifier at Eagle Creek Golf Club, finishing in a tie atop the leaderboard .
