The Tournament Lineup
With qualifying lasting to the practice round for the tournament, the Wolverines starting-six group has yet to be determined. Vying for spots will be: senior captain Ashley Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS), senior Andrea Ratigan (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino HS), junior Katelin Davis (Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS), junior Louisa Shu (West Bloomfield, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm HS), junior Min Yean Tan (Queensland, Australia/Hills International College), junior/sophomore Jenn Cleary (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing HS), sophomore Meagan Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS), sophomore Brooke Bettis (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North HS), freshman Shana Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS) and freshman Caramia Sitompul (Jakarta, Indonesia/Bradenton Prep Academy [Fla.]).

New Leader
After serving as the assistant for the last four years, Cheryl Stacy was named the head women's golf coach in mid-July. Stacy becomes the fourth head coach in the 34-year history of the U-M women's golf program. Stacy, a Class A member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division, helped the Wolverines make three NCAA regional appearances and post two top-five finishes in the Big Ten Championships. Collecting five team titles and three individual medalist honors, U-M had 22 top-five finishes in 47 regular-season events over her last four years.

Longevity Continues
Ashley Bauer has yet to miss a tournament in her career at Michigan, playing in 37 straight events. Bauer is one of two Wolverines with a consecutive-event streak along with Min Yean Tan, who has played in 25 straight events.

Model of Consistency
Ashley Bauer, who has never missed a U-M event, continues to be the 'model of consistency' for the Wolverines. Her current career average of 76.35 is the best for any golfer in U-M history. In 37 career events, she has posted 21 top-20 finishes with 14 in the top 10 and seven in the top five. Bauer won her first collegiate event last season at 2008 Wolverine Invitational.

Chalk Up Another School Record
Ashley Bauer's second-round, four-under 68 at the Mary Fossum Invitational not only ties her career best, but it also helps her tie her own U-M single-round record, which she shares with four other Wolverines. In total, there are five players in U-M's "68" Club -- Bauer, Kim Benedict (2000-03), Laura Olin (2002-05), Amy Schmucker (2003-06) and LeAnna Wicks (1999-2002). Bauer is the only Wolverine to have reached the record round twice in her career.

More on the Record Round
For the second straight season, Ashley Bauer opened the season posting a career-best and U-M record-tying 68. Last year, Bauer posted a three-under 68 in the first, and only, round of the 2008-09 season-opening Wolverine Invitational. This year, she shot a four-under 68 at the 2009-10 season-opening Mary Fossum Invitational. In fact, when Bauer cards the record round she was able to close as medalist at the Wolverine Invite and the medalist runner-up at the Mary Fossum.

Red Tournament Totals
Ashley Bauer's one-under 215 54-hole tournament total at the Mary Fossum Invitational marks her third career sub-par event. Her two other sub-par events happened at the Mountain View Challenge with a U-M record four-under 212 tally in 2007 and a one-under 215 last year. With her tally, Bauer closed as the medalist runner-up and has now finished as the top Wolverine in 20 of the 37 career events and has seven career top-five finishes.

Following Her Sister's Lead
Ashley Bauer was not the only Wolverine to card a career-best round at the 2009 Mary Fossum Invitational, as her sister, Meagan, shot a career-best, one-under 71 in the final round. Her previous best was a 74, shot in the second round of the 2009 Mountain View Challenge (March 28-29). With her record round, Meagan set a new career best for a 54-hole tournament, tallying a 231 to top her previous best of 233 at the 2009 Mountain View Challenge (March 28-29, 2009).

Sister Act, Part 3
During the 2007-08 season, the Wolverines had the Davis sisters, Lindsay and Katelin, on the roster. After Lindsay graduated, the sisterly act continued as Ashley Bauer welcomed her younger sister, Meagan, to the team last year. Now in 2009-10, the Bauer's added yet another sister, Shana, to give them three on the roster.

All In the Family
In addition to all three Bauer sisters on the roster, newcomer Caramia Sitompul also has a family pairing at U-M. Her brother, Alexander, is a junior with the men's program and earned All-America honorable mention honors last year after helping U-M to a national semifinalist finish.

The Maize and Blue Postseason Resume
Michigan has been represented in NCAA regional competition by the U-M team or an individual in seven of the last nine seasons, making team appearances in 2001, '02, '05, '07 and '09. Laura Olin (2004) and Amy Schmucker (2006) have made central regional appearances as individuals. In 2002, the Wolverines finished sixth at the central regional in East Lansing, Mich., to advance to their first NCAA Finals appearance, where the Maize and Blue finished 17th.

A Very Full Showcase
Michigan has 30 tournament titles in the history of the program. Of those 30 titles, 11 have been won during the last six years -- two in 2003-04, four in 2004-05, one in 2005-06, two in 2006-07, none in 2007-08 and two in 2008-09.
