With only two events left in the fall season, the University of Michigan women's golf team heads to Greenville, N.C., Monday and Tuesday (Mon-Tue., Oct. 19-20) for East Carolina's 2009 Lady Pirate Intercollegiate. The Tournament Field
There will be 15 schools participating in the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate: East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Elon, Gardner Webb, Georgetown, Georgia State, James Madison, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, UNC Greensboro, Old Dominion, UTEP, William & Mary and Xavier

The Tournament Schedule

Monday, Oct. 19: First Round (18) begins with a shotgun start at 8:40 a.m.
Monday, Oct. 19: Second Round (18) will be a continuous play following the first round
Tuesday, Oct. 20: Final Round (18) begins with a shotgun start at 8:40 a.m.

The Tournament Lineup
The Wolverines will bring five starters and an individual to the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate. Playing for the Wolverines will be: senior captain Ashley Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS), junior Min Yean Tan (Queensland, Australia/Hills International College), sophomore Meagan Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS), junior Katelin Davis (Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS) and senior Andrea Ratigan (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino HS), while junior Louisa Shu (West Bloomfield, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm HS) will travel as the individual.

Longevity Continues
After her start at the Windy City Collegiate, Ashley Bauer has yet to miss a tournament in her career, playing in 39 straight events. Bauer is one of two Wolverines with consecutive-event streaks along with Min Yean Tan, who has played in 27 straight events in her three seasons.

Oh So Close, Again
Twice this season, Ashley Bauer closed as the individual runner-up in a tournament. To open the season, Bauer closed a shot behind James Madison's Nicole Sakamoto for the Mary Fossum Invitational title, and finished one shot behind Purdue's Maude-Aimee LeBlanc for the Windy City Collegiate title. She now has four career top-two finishes.

Model of Consistency
Ashley Bauer, who has never missed a U-M event, continues to be the 'model of consistency' for the Wolverines. Her current career average of 76.14 is the best for any golfer in U-M history. In 39 career events, she has posted 23 top-20 finishes with 15 in the top 10 and eight in the top five. Bauer won her first collegiate event last season at 2008 Wolverine Invitational.

Follow the Leader
With her medalist runner-up finish at the Windy City Collegiate, Ashley Bauer has now finished as the top Wolverine in 22 of her 39 career events and has eight career top-five finishes. Her recent finish also marked her eighth straight event finishing as the top Wolverine dating back to last season.

Add Another School Record
Ashley Bauer's second-round, four-under 68 at the Mary Fossum Invitational, not only ties her career best, but it also helps her tie her own U-M single-round record, which she shares with four other Wolverines. In total, there are five players in U-M's "68" Club -- Bauer, Kim Benedict, Laura Olin, Amy Schmucker and LeAnna Wicks. Bauer is the only Wolverine to have reached the record round twice in her career. Bauer also holds, or shares, the U-M record for 18-, 36- and 54-hole tournament tallies at U-M.

Add Yet Another School Record
With her four-under 212 total at the Windy City Collegiate, Ashley Bauer tied her own U-M record total for a 54-hole tournament score. Bauer also shot a four-under 212 at the 2007 Mountain View Challenge and shares the honor with Kim Benedict, who shot her four-under 212 at the 2001 Shootout at the Legends.

Following Her Sisters Lead
Ashley Bauer was not the only Wolverine to card a career-best round at the 2009 Mary Fossum Invitational, her sister, Meagan, shot a career-best one-under 71 in the final round. Her previous best was a 74, shot in the second round of the 2009 Mountain View Challenge (March 28-29). In another sibling twist, as Ashley tied the U-M 54-hole record at the 2009 Windy City Collegiate at 213, Meagan set a new career best with a 230 (80-73-77). In her second season, Meagan has started all three events and is averaging 77.11 strokes per round.

Red Rounds Equal Career Best Marks
Min Yean Tan posted back-to-back career-best rounds of one-under 71 in the first and second rounds of the 2009 Windy City Collegiate. The rounds mark her first sub-par rounds of her career. She topped her round of 72 she had last year in the first round of the 2008 Windy City Collegiate and the 72 she had in the second round of the 2008 Indiana Invitational.

Lowering Her Best Yet Again
Katelin Davis recorded a career-best 54-hole tournament tally of 237 at the Windy City Collegiate. She lowered her prior best by three shots, a 240 tally in last weekend's Lady Northern Invitational (Sept. 27-28). Davis' final-round 75 at the Windy City Collegiate just missed her career best of 74.

Sister Act, Part 3
During the 2007-08 season, the Wolverines had the Davis sisters, Lindsay and Katelin, on the roster. After Lindsay graduated, the sisterly act continued as Ashley Bauer welcomed her younger sister, Meagan, to the team last year. Now in 2009-10, the Bauer's added yet another sister, Shana, to give them three on the roster.

All In the Family
In addition to all three Bauer sisters on the roster, newcomer Caramia Sitompul also has a family pairing at U-M. Her brother, Alexander, is a junior with the men's program and earned All-America honorable mention honors last year after helping U-M to a national semifinalist finish.

The Maize and Blue Postseason Resume
Michigan has been represented in NCAA regional competition by the U-M team or an individual in seven of the last nine seasons, making team appearances in 2001, '02, '05, '07 and '09. Laura Olin (2004) and Amy Schmucker (2006) have made central regional appearances as individuals. In 2002, the Wolverines finished sixth at the central regional in East Lansing, Mich., to advance to their first NCAA Finals appearance, where the Maize and Blue finished 17th.

A Very Full Showcase
Michigan has 30 tournament titles in the history of the program. Of those 30 titles, 11 have been won during the last six years -- two in 2003-04, four in 2004-05, one in 2005-06, two in 2006-07, none in 2007-08 and two in 2008-09.
