ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- On Wednesday (Dec. 3), University of Michigan women's gymnastics head coach Bev Plocki announced the addition of Nichelle Christopherson (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit North) to the 2015 roster. She will join the team for the start of the second semester and be eligible immediately.
"We're thrilled to be able to add a gymnast of Nichelle's caliber to our existing freshman class," Plocki said. "She's got a great work ethic and will add some much-needed depth to our team. We're looking forward to working with her in the gym."
Christopherson currently trains with Fuzion Gymnastics in Kearney, Mo. She has competed at Level 10 since 2009. Christopherson scored top-five finishes on every event at the 2014 Missouri State Championships, taking second on vault (tie) and floor exercise, third on balance beam and fifth on uneven bars, while claiming fourth in the all-around. At the 2014 Region 4 Regional Championships, Christopherson won balance beam and finished fourth on both uneven bars and in the all-around. She qualified to the 2014 J.O. National Championships where she competed in the Sr. C Division.
