With the U-M women's lacrosse program's first recruiting class in the books, all 28 members will now be featured in their own student-athlete spotlight, breaking down each future Wolverine, on and off the field.

Lauren Pryor is a three-time varsity letterwinner (2010, '11, '12) and will play her final season at Darien High School (Darien, Conn.) this spring.

As a junior, she helped guide Darien to the FCIAC title and a No. 3 ranking in the state of Connecticut. The team finished the season with a 15-6 record, including an 11-2 league record.

During her sophomore season, she helped Darien go 15-8 overall, including a 10-3 league record, en route to a FCIAC runner-up finish and the CIAC state title.

As a freshman, Pryor was a captain on the junior varsity team before being elevated to the varsity team for the postseason. She helped the Darien varsity team finish out the season ranked No. 2 with a 15-5 record, including a perfect 13-0 mark in league play.

Pryor plays club lacrosse for the CT Chargers, where he helped her team go undefeated at the Lax for the Cure Tournament and Northern RISE Showcase in 2011.

She is also a four-year member of varsity volleyball team and three-time letterwinner (2011, '12, '13). She helped the Blue Wave go undefeated in the regular season three straight times from 2010-12.

Collegiate athletics run in the family, as her father, Martin Pryor, played football at the University of Kansas.

Off the field, the Honor Roll student is a member of Art for Action Club and is actively involved in the Challenger Baseball Program for children with special needs.

ACCORDING TO COACH ULEHLA

"Lauren possesses the hallmarks of a great line defender including solid footwork and positioning as well as a comprehensive understanding of team defense. An athletic player, she has a very tough work ethic and is able to efficiently get the job done on the defensive end through a quiet yet strong and persistent presence. Lauren has a solid foundation to build upon and her sharp on-field vision and steady off-field direction will help her to contribute significantly to the success of Team One."

What attracted you to the University of Michigan?
"As a little girl I always dreamed of going to the University of Michigan because my mother went to the university. I grew up with the Wolverine spirit all over my house. I can vividly remember telling anyone who would ask that I would, like my mom, attend Michigan."

What are your thoughts about being part of Michigan first women's lacrosse team?
"I'm beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to play for the University of Michigan. Lacrosse has always been a passion of mine and to play for a school like Michigan is incredible."

How has it been getting to know your future Wolverine teammates?
"It's been really amazing. I love that we are all from different parts of the country, yet we all have the same passion for Michigan and lacrosse. I haven't gotten the chance to meet the whole team yet so I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!"

What do you like about Michigan/Ann Arbor from what you've seen so far?
"My favorite part about Michigan is the spirit all around the campus. The pride that Michigan has throughout its student body is unmatched by any other school and this is what really makes me want to be student at Michigan."

How did you first get involved in lacrosse?
"In fourth grade I joined my town's house lacrosse league. I was convinced by a family friend to try out for the town's travel team in sixth grade and from there I fell in love with the game."

Who is your role model, and why?
"My volleyball coach, coach LaRusso, is my greatest inspiration. Coach LaRusso has dedicated herself to building bold and responsible women, not just competitive athletes. She demands that each of us strive to be the best person we can be through dedication, loyalty and hard work."

What do you enjoy doing when you're not playing lacrosse?
"I'm a very big sleeper."
