With the U-M women's lacrosse program's first recruiting class in the books, all 28 members will now be featured in their own student-athlete spotlight, breaking down each future Wolverine, on and off the field.

Anna Schueler is a two-time varsity letterwinner (2011, '12) and will play her final season at Loyola Academy (Wilmette, Ill.) this spring. She has tallied 52 goals and 30 assists and helped lead her team to a 43-5 record over the last two seasons.

As a junior, she tallied 36 goals and 21 assists, including five goals and had two assists in the state championship game against New Trier to help lead Loyola Academy to its fourth consecutive state title. Following the season, she earned U.S. Lacrosse All-America honorable mention, All-State and All-GCAC Conference Team honors. She was also a member of the Midwest Under Armour Undergraduate All-America Tournament Team that year.

In her first season on varsity as a sophomore, Schueler tallied 16 goals and nine assists, en route to being named to the All-State second team and All-GCAC Conference lists. She was also a Member of Team Chicago at the U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament, as well as a member of the Midwest Under Armour Undergraduate All-American Tournament Team for the second straight year.

The right-handed midfielder also plays club lacrosse for the Northwestern Elite (2011, '12). In addition to lacrosse, Schueler is also a two-time varsity letterwinner in basketball (2010, '11), where she earned All-Conference honors and was one of twenty players selected to the Chicago Sun-Times All-Area Honorable Mention Team and one of twenty-five players selected the ESPN Chicago All-Area Team as a senior.

ACCORDING TO COACH ULEHLA

"Anna is an incredibly athletic and fast midfielder with a fierce competitive spirit. A leader by example, her championship mentality and tough work ethic shared with her intrinsic desire to make a difference will help catapult her to the next level at Michigan. Mentally as tough as they come, Anna has the ability to carry a team on her back -- a strength that will be relied upon with such a young group in year one."
