2014 U-M Women's Lacrosse Schedule

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's lacrosse head coach Jennifer Ulehla announced the program's inaugural 2014 schedule today (Thursday, Aug. 1). The Wolverines' 16-game slate will feature eight home contests at Michigan Stadium and four games against opponents who finished the 2013 season ranked in the nation's top 10.

The Maize and Blue will play its first official game on the road on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Villanova before opening its home slate on Friday, Feb. 28, against second-year program Marquette.

Michigan's inaugural spring trip will include a matchup with Jacksonville (March 5), as well as its first American Lacrosse Conference (ALC) contest at Florida (March 8). Ulehla spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Gators (2008-10) prior to coming to Ann Arbor in 2011.

The Wolverines will see their first ALC action at home on Tuesday, March 11, when they host seven-time NCAA champion Northwestern. The remainder of U-M's conference lineup includes road games at Johns Hopkins (March 16) and at Penn State (March 23), as well as home tilts against Ohio State (April 2) and Vanderbilt (TBA).

Michigan's non-conference home schedule will include matchups with Winthrop (March 20), UC Davis (March 30), California (April 12) and Fresno State (April 26).

The Wolverines will also play three other non-conference games on the road at Navy (April 5), Brown (April 9) and Detroit (April 16).

Florida, Jacksonville, Navy, Northwestern and Penn State each made appearances in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, with Northwestern advancing to the national semifinals.

The 2014 ALC Tournament will be hosted by Northwestern from May 1-4 in Evanston, Ill. The NCAA Tournament, which was expanded to a 26-team format in 2013, will begin on May 9 and conclude with the semifinals and national championship game on May 23 and 25, respectively, in Towson, Md.
