ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's lacrosse team was one of 84 Division I programs to earn Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad accolades, the organization announced on Monday (Aug. 11).
The Wolverines' roster of 27 freshmen collectively received the recognition for carrying a 3.0 grade-point average or better for the 2013-14 academic year.
Led by head coach Jennifer Ulehla, the program went 4-13 in its first year as a varsity program. The Wolverines competed as a member of the American Lacrosse Conference (ALC) and will now transition to the newly formed Big Ten Women's Lacrosse Conference for the 2015 season.
