U-M boatman Matt LeBlanc manages, repairs, and transports all of the U-M Rowing team's boats and equipment. LeBlanc is also responsible for ordering equipment and setting up the 2,000-meter race course at Belleville Lake. LeBlanc, who has been a member of the Michigan rowing staff since 1998, also manages the Michigan Boathouse.
LeBlanc, who is a native of Gibraltar, Mich., grew up around rowing. His father rowed in the 1960s and his brother rowed for U-M. LeBlanc rowed collegiately with the Grand Valley State University rowing club in Allendale, Mich., and also coached the GVSU freshman women's team. LeBlanc and his wife, former Michigan coxswain Belinda Koo, and their daughter Yvette and son Derek live in Ypsilanti.
