ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's rowing team continued the fall exhibition schedule on Sunday (Oct. 6) with an exhibition regatta against defending national champion Ohio State at Belleville Lake. The teams raced two flights with four-minute pieces, with Ohio State winning nine of 10 races.
"I think the biggest thing we are taking from these pieces is that racing against the defending national champions, we know exactly now what we need to improve on as a team," said assistant coach Liz Tuppen.
The Wolverines claimed their lone victory in the fourth race in the second flight, when Michigan's C boat earned the win against Ohio State's C and D crews.
Michigan will compete in the 49th Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday, Oct. 20, in Boston, Mass. The Wolverines will race in the women's championship eight event at the regatta, which is one of the largest annual regattas held in North America.
