Start Time Moved to 7:30 a.m. for U-M's Saturday Competition

Note (Friday, April 12): Due to expected weather conditions tomorrow (Saturday, April 13), the University of Michigan women's rowing competition against Indiana, Michigan State and Ohio State has been moved to a 7:30 a.m. start time at Belleville Lake.

Saturday, April 13 -- vs. No. 4 Ohio State and Indiana (Belleville Lake), 9 a.m.

The 13th-ranked University of Michigan women's rowing team will host fourth-ranked Ohio State and Indiana this Saturday (April 13) at Belleville Lake. The double dual between the Wolverines, Buckeyes and Hoosiers begins at 9 a.m.

• The Wolverines' first varsity four (1V4) shared the Big Ten's Boat of the Week honor with Ohio State's first varsity eight (1V8) after sweeping head-to-head races against Notre Dame and Tennessee this past weekend. U-M's 1V4 beat the Irish by 17 seconds and topped the Lady Volunteers by nearly 30 seconds. The Wolverines boat consisted of Hannah Sherman, Andrea Johnson, Alex Ohman, Allison Boss and Hannah Moscati.

• Michigan has won the Big Ten's Boat of the Week following its first two races of the regular season. Last week, the first varsity eight (1V8) was recognized with the award after defeating Michigan State's top boat by 14 seconds (6:46.59) and Iowa's boat by 23 seconds (7:07.16) in their head-to-head races.

• U-M has won 24 of its 27 races so far this season, including a sweep of all 13 head-to-head matchups with Michigan State and Iowa during the regular-season opener.

• Michigan is ranked 13th in the most recent CRCA/US Rowing Coaches poll released on April 10. The Wolverines are nine spots behind fourth-ranked Ohio State. Wisconsin (15th) is the other conference school listed in the top 20.

• The women's rowing teams selected a six-person leadership council for the 2013 season. The student-athletes making up the council are Colleen Macke, Melisa Ongun, Bryna Oleshansky, Sarah Trovato, Alex Spaulding and Traci Carson.

• This year's squad welcomes four freshmen: port Hannah Moscati, starboard Alex Ohman, starboard Halli Travers and port Ty Wellik.

• On the flip side, the Wolverines have five senior members that are leading the way: coxswain Kate Grimaldi, coxswain Colleen Macke, port Melisa Ongun, starboard Samantha Scholl and starboard Shannon Stief.
