ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Rising seniors Bryna Oleshansky (Knoxville, Tenn./Bearden) and Emily Idoni (Fenton, Mich./Fenton) from the University of Michigan rowing team are attending the U23 World Team Trials through Wednesday (June 26) held at the Princeton National Rowing Center/Caspersen Boathouse. The student-athletes are rowing for spots on the Under 23 (U23) World Championship team that will compete from July 24-28 in Linz, Austria.
Oleshansky is racing in the women's four and Idoni in the women's pair for USRowing. Oleshansky won her heat, and Idoni placed second in her race on Monday (June 24). The final day of competition for both competitors is Wednesday morning. The top place will receive the bid to the world championships.
Oleshansky and Idoni raced in the Wolverines' first varsity eight throughout the season. Idoni earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete recognition for the second straight season, and Oleshansky picked up Academic All-Big Ten accolades for the third consecutive year.
