ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan rower Bryna Oleshansky (Knoxville, Tenn./Bearden) has qualified for the Under 23 (U23) World Championships after placing first at the team trials held this past week at the Princeton National Rowing Center/Caspersen Boathouse. Oleshanky's four won their event to qualify for the world championships to be held from July 24-28 in Linz, Austria.
Racing for USRowing, Oleshansky won her heat on Monday and her boat won in the finals on Wednesday. The winners of the finals received a bid to the world championships.
In addition, Emily Idoni (Fenton, Mich./Fenton) competed at the team trials in the women's pair for USRowing. Idoni placed second in her heat on Monday and finished third in the finals on Wednesday.
Oleshansky and Idoni will be seniors this fall for the Wolverines.
