ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Redshirt junior Chrissy Holm (North Oaks, Minn./Hill-Murray) of the University of Michigan women's rowing team has been selected to represent the United States at the 2012 Under-23 World Championships, USRowing announced on Thursday (July 5). Holm will compete in the women's eight event when the U.S. team heads to Trakai, Lithuania, for the event, which will be held July 11-15.
Holm rowed in the Wolverines' second varsity eight boat last season and helped the crew to an undefeated season, Big Ten title and national championship. Her boat earned Co-Big Ten Boat of the Week on May 1, and Holm received Academic All-Big Ten honors and picked up a U-M Athletic Academic Achievement Award.
This will be Holm's first international competition, though she did attend the 2011 U.S. Under-23 selection camp.
