Holm Named Finalist for Fan's Choice Collegiate Rower of the Year

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan senior/junior rower Chrissy Holm (North Oaks, Minn./Hill-Murray) has been named one of the five finalists for Collegiate Rower of the Year in the 2012 USRowing Fan's Choice Awards, co-sponsored by row2k Media.

Holm rowed in Michigan's second varsity eight boat last season and helped the crew to an undefeated season, including Big Ten and NCAA titles, as the Wolverines captured the Big Ten team title and placed second at the NCAA Championships. She was honored as an Academic All-Big Ten award winner, as well as a U-M Athletic Academic Achievement award winner.

Holm also represented the United States at the 2012 World Under-23 Rowing Championships in July. She rowed in the U.S. women's eight crew, which won the gold medal by open water over runner-up Germany and third-place The Netherlands.

Voting for the award runs from Oct. 2 through 5 p.m. on Oct. 22. Fans can cast their ballot for Holm at the 2012 Fan's Choice Awards site.
