Sunday, Oct. 6 -- vs. Ohio State (Belleville Lake), 10 a.m.
The University of Michigan rowing team continues its fall exhibition schedule on Sunday (Oct. 6) at 10 a.m. against Ohio State at Belleville Lake. On Sept. 15, the rowing team kicked off the fall season with wins in all five first-flight pieces against Michigan State and Notre Dame. The Wolverines also took the top two spots in each of the five second-flight pieces. In two weeks, the Wolverines will compete in the 49th Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday, Oct. 20, in Boston, Mass. The Wolverines will race in the women's championship eight event at the regatta, which is one of the largest annual regattas held in North America.
The regatta will consist of a series of four-minute pieces, with a stroke rate of 26-28. There will be two flights, with each team putting two crews of eight in each race.
Michigan will take on Ohio State, which won the 2013 NCAA team championship last spring. The Wolverines and Buckeyes met last fall on Oct. 6 at the Griggs Reservoir in Columbus, Ohio, in a non-scoring event.
The Wolverines added graduate student Amanda Elmore to the program this season. Elmore rowed at Purdue University and earned a spot on the 2013 U.S. Under-23 National Team, earning a gold medal this summer at the U23 World Championships in the Women's Varsity 8+.
Oleshansky also rowed for the U.S. Under-23 National Team this summer at the U23 World Championships in the Women's Four.
