VANCOUVER, B.C. -- University of Michigan freshman women's soccer midfielder Christina Murillo (Ojai, Calif./Nordhoff) has been named to the Mexican National Team's roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which begins Thursday (Jan. 19) at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.

Mexico is in Group B and will have matches against Guatemala (Jan. 20), the Dominican Republic (Jan. 22) and the United States (Jan. 24). Group A consists of Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba and Haiti. The top two teams from each group will move to the knockout stage on Jan. 27, essentially becoming a four-team, single-elimination tournament. The two winners from the knockout stage will qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and meet in the final on Jan. 29.

Murillo is one of the youngest players on Mexico's roster for the CONCACAF tournament. She started 19 matches last season as a member of the Wolverines, recording five assists and earning a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman team.
