The University of Michigan women's soccer team (5-2-2, 0-1-0 Big Ten) will seek its first win of the Big Ten season on Saturday (Oct. 2) at 7 p.m. CDT when it travels to face Northwestern on Lakeside Field in Evanston, Ill.

WOLVERINE BITES
Minute to Win It -- Senior Jackie Carron (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) became the seventh player in program history to eclipse 6,000 minutes played in her career. Carron, who reached 6,042 minutes against Ohio State on Sunday (Sept. 26), has started all 66 games over the last four seasons. Carron has been named team Most Valuable Player three times while racking up 14 career points.

On the Big Ten Radar -- Nkem Ezurike remains tied for the Big Ten lead in goals with five. Tori McCombs is ranked 10th in the league in scoring as one of four Big Ten players to score four goals, but she has needed the fewest games to get there. Senior Amanda Bowery (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) is tied for second in the conference in assists with four. Ezurike also sits in seventh with 11 points. [ Complete Big Ten Statistics ]

Rank and File -- Michigan made its return to the NSCAA Great Lakes Region rankings for the first time in a little more than three years. The resurgent Wolverines appeared at No. 9 in the Sept. 21 NSCAA/HendrickCars.com regional rankings before settling in at No. 10 in the latest poll released on Sept. 28. The Maize and Blue last held a spot on the Great Lakes list on Sept. 11, 2007. [ Complete Rankings ]

Quick Hits -- Michigan packed 3,503 fans into the U-M Soccer Stadium for the dedication game (Sept. 17), establishing a new program record. The previous record of 1,887 was set on Oct. 28, 2005, against MSU ... The Big Ten Network is scheduled to televise Michigan's home game against Illinois (Oct. 31, 3 p.m.) and at Penn State (Nov. 7, 1 p.m.) live in high definition.
